Maybelline New York Baby Lips Color Balm Crayons Are Coming

In 2012, we tapped Maybelline Baby Lips in our Best of Beauty Awards, and if we're being honest, our enthusiasm for the delicately flavored, immensely quenching, unsticky, and really affordable sticks hasn't slowed down one bit over the last four years. In the spring, makeup artists at Public School smeared Maybelline Baby Lips on models' eyes to up the glossy smudge of their smoked out lids. Today we got word that Maybelline Baby Lips crayons are coming—the official product name is Maybelline New York Baby Lips Color Balm Crayon— and we couldn't be more thrilled.

A color range isn't an entirely new idea for the balm. And in fact, Maybelline's sort of been dancing around that idea for awhile. The Maybelline Baby Lips family currently includes bright hues like Cherry Me, which imparts a sheer wash of just-bitten red, and Peach Kiss, an apricot nude . Earlier in the summer, the company launched Maybelline New York Baby Lips Glow Balm, which adjusts to your natural pH-level, resulting in your own natural shade of pink. The new oil balm crayon will contain all the benefits of the hydrating balm but with the addition of highly pigmented color. No more barely-there wash, no more sheer finish. The crayons are the real color deal.

Here's how to make your lipstick last the entire day.

As I see it, one of the worst parts about winter are the inevitable dry, chapped lips. I personally have several hoarded at a time, so you can only imagine my enthusiasm at hearing about this new product. A pretty (and powerful) lip color with long-lasting hours of hydration? Yes, yes, so much yes. The Maybelline New York Baby Lips Color Balm Crayon will be available in eight shades, including the ones you see at the of this story: Sassy Scarlet (a true red), Toasted Taupe (a brownish nude) and Strawberry Pop (a Barbie pink). All colors will be available beginning January 2017 in major retailers for $6.99. Thank you Maybelline for making my winter dreams come true.
