Staring at your phone before bed is a surefire way to get a poor night's sleep. But it's a great way to find beauty products. Case in point: the Rituel de Fille Rare Light Luminizer. During a recent pre-bedtime Instagram sweep, I noticed this new highlighter show up on my feed again and again. Initially—after two appearances—I brushed it off as coincidence because, let's be honest, how many times have you seen the Mario/Anastasia palette recently (answer: a lot). But when I spotted it a third, fourth, and fifth time, all posted by celebrity makeup artists, my interest was piqued. What was this brand? Why was this specific product being called out? If Hung Vanngo, Fiona Stiles, and Suzy Gerstein all took the time out of their busy days beautifying stars like Selena Gomez, Jennifer Garner, and Karlie Kloss, to post about this new highlighter, I had to know what the hype was about. So I went straight to the fans.
Vanngo, who has done the makeup for many of our covers (most recently for Elizabeth Olsen, tells Allure that the Rituel de Fille Rare Light Luminizers are subtler and sheerer than your average shine enhancer—not full of disco-ball like shimmer like many on the market. "They look like fresh, glowing skin," he says. "They're soft and blendable, so the line where they stop on the skin is undetectable." Although the the Rituel de Fille Rare Light Luminizer comes in a compact, it has the super creamy consistency that you would expect to come in stick form, giving it that seamless finish.

The new highlighter comes in three shades, which Vanngo loves because "it gives everyone an option instead of a one-size-fits-all product." You can choose from Ghost Light (a pale pink with purple undertones), Anthelion (a soft gold), and Phosphene (a peachy champagne). Stiles says each are lovely because they have undertones that you don't find in your average highlighter. "There’s a hint of blue opal in [Ghost Light], lots of peachy gold in [Anthelion], and a little pink in [Phosphene]," giving each shade more oomph. And the Rare Light Luminizers are one trick ponies. In fact, they're a great multi-use product to keep stashed in your makeup bag. "They're great for experimenting," says Vanngo. "You can use more than one shade for different effects, for example using one as a skin highlight and another as a sheer cream eyeshadow."
While you can buy Rituel de Fille products on Goop, the Rare Light Luminizers are only available on the brand's website, ritueldefille.com for $29 each. My eyes are on Ghost Light. It'll be the perfect to give my skin a healthy, fresh glow—and disguise the fact I stayed up trolling Twitter all night long.
