The Tarte Pretty Paintbox Collector's Makeup Case Is the Ultimate Palette

From the looks of the outside of this mod case, you'd probably assume it's a clutch that would go perfectly with a Twiggy costume. However, when you pull the Tarte Pretty Paintbox Collector's Makeup Case open (no need to unzip thanks to a handy magnetic closure), you'll find a makeup motherlode. From eye shadow to highlighter, the case is like all your favorite palettes and beauty products combined in one très chic case. If it included a foundation, concealer and some makeup brushes, I would pack this alone for my next trip, leaving my clunky makeup bag of individual products home. But for now, I'll just bring a smaller bag than usual to supplement this treasure trove.

The left side of the Tarte Pretty Paintbox Collector's Makeup Case is essentially an eye shadow palette with 24 limited-edition shades of the brand's popular Amazonian clay shadow. Typically the brand's shadow palettes come with six or twelve pots, so just the left side alone is quite an impressive haul. It's stocked with a combination of matte and metallic shades, ranging from everyday neutrals to experimental bolds. The third column is my personal favorite of the four. The shimmery selection is on point with Bronze Casting (a bronze, of course), Metal Work (a rust), First Impression (a midnight blue), Selfie Portrait (a rose gold), Hot MoMA (a burgundy), and Get Surreal (a blush pink). I like to apply the Tarte shadows with a wet brush, like the to up their intensity.

On the right hand side, there's a compartment that flips open to reveal a mirror, which is perfect for on-the-go applications. This section also includes the So Fine Micro Liner, the Tarteist Lash Paint Mascara, and a mini tube of Tarteist Glossy Lip Paint in Obvi (a warm nude) for finishing off your look. It's also worth mentioning that once you take out the plastic mold in that section, you could use that little zone to safely store other extras, like a full-size Tarte Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint, a tube of concealer, and a couple travel-sized makeup brushes. It's like a Caboodle, only cooler. And smaller.

The Tarte Pretty Paintbox Collector's Makeup Case even has a section devoted to cheeks. The four pans includes a coral blush, a champagne highlighter, a shimmery caramel bronzer, and a matte coffee bronzer. Just like the brand's other cheek offerings, these are supersoft and long-wearing.
