First-time Victoria's Secret Angel Josephine Skriver's Beauty Must-Haves

Josephine Skriver, 23, like many models, is a familiar face on fashion-month runways and in the pages of your favorite magazines. But unlike her fellow catwalkers, she’s also a newly minted Victoria’s Secret Angel, and doubtless on the cusp of first-name fame, scores of red carpet appearances, and private planes (this year, to the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in Paris). Awesomely, that’s not remotely the most interesting thing about her. She’s a thrill-seeking, tomboy with a beauty-curious side she’s not shy to share:

Earliest makeup memory: "When I was 10, I stole my mom’s lipstick, but ended up giving up on my own lips and drawing a tiger face on my brother instead. Then I spent the next two hours trying to get it off of him."

Greatest beauty extravagance: "I take masks with me everywhere, especially on planes. I try all kinds, but I really like SK-II and Shiseido’s sheet masks."

Smartest backstage beauty trick: "To shield your lids with a spoon when you apply your mascara. It’s crowded backstage—someone’s always bumping into you."

Can't wait until show? Get more details on this year's VS Show in Paris:

Most embarrassing moment: "I’m used to changing my pose anytime the camera clicks for shoots. So at my first red-carpet event, everyone got mid-action photos of me. That was my problem in the beginning. I couldn’t stop modeling."

Most exhilarating moment: "Hiking the world’s biggest cave, Son Doong, in Vietnam. Fewer people have been to this cave than to the North Pole; we were on the waiting list for a year."

Most nostalgic beauty moment: "My grandma always smelled of Elnett. At my first modeling job, I thought they’d have all these cool, high-fashion products, but they pulled out my grandma’s hair recipe. It really brought me back."

Most-worn beauty product: "Perfume is the first thing I put on in the morning and the last thing I take off at night. Lately, I’ve been wearing Victoria’s Secret Paris. Its evening flower, woodsy smell is sensual, but subtle. You know when you’re on a first date, and finally get close enough to know what they smell like? It’s like that."
