If there was an overall winner at the 2016 American Music Awards, it was Selena Gomez who delivered one of the most powerful awards show speeches in recent history when she accepted the award for Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist. The singer and actress moved everyone in the room, and people watching at home, as she gracefully addressed her hiatus and revealed that, like so many others out there, she has been struggling with depression and anxiety tied to her Lupus. "I had to stop, because I had everything and I was absolutely broken inside," she said. "I kept it all together enough to where I would never let you down, but I kept it too much together to where I let myself down." You could sense the love in the room as she was giving the speech, when the camera panned to artists like Lady Gaga. After, many of them—Gaga included—took to social media to show love to Selena Gomez.
