Jennifer Lopez's 2016 Latin Grammys Look is Fall Perfection

I am convinced J.Lo has discovered the fountain of youth, and is keeping it from the rest of us. Seriously, it's like every time she hits the red carpet she only gets more and more fabulous. Now, usually we can always count on a classic nude lip and neutral smoky eye, but this time she went for a totally different approach. Jennifer Lopez's 2016 Latin Grammys look is the perfect embodiment of how to absolutely slay the burgundy eye makeup trend that is taking over the beauty world at the moment.

Last night was full of reunions for the 47-year-old (yes, you read that correctly) star. In addition to taking the stage with her ex-husband Marc Anthony for a touching and passionate reconvening (including an on-stage smooch), Lopez came together with longtime makeup artist Mary Phillips to create the perfect makeup for a memorable night. Phillip's makeup technique was inspired by '70s beauty to complement Lopez's Zuhair Murad Couture nude jumpsuit. Her skin reflected the classic J.Lo glow, but her soft and enchanting maroon eye makeup is what really stole the show. To create a neutral smoky eye base, Phillips blended shades from L’Oréal Paris La Palette Nude 1 and 2. Then came the eye-catching flash of color from Lancôme Color Design' Sensational Effects Eye Shadow in Ruby Velvet, which she gently whirled into the neutral shades on her top and bottom lids. A pink nude lip and natural peony blush along the apples of her cheeks brought Jennifer Lopez's 2016 Latin Grammys look together.

Lopez also proved just how versatile this makeup trend can be. Later in the show she switched into a pearl-laced gown for her performance with Marc Anthony but left her makeup alone. The moody maroon eyes added just the right hint of color to her ensemble. Leave it to J.Lo to show us how it's done.
