When it comes to celebs with style, Olivia Palermo is the queen of creating chic, unexpected, and completely wearable looks that we’d actually wear in our normal day-to-day lives. Palermo stepped out in the most perfect military inspired cape by Burberry, with large gold buttons and red trim. And though the coat may be out of our price range (it comes in at just under $4,000), she showed that there’s nothing better than mixing and matching high-low fashion. The oversized cream ribbed sweater she paired underneath her outerwear balanced the look and cost just $90. It’s the Ribbed Side-Tie Sweater by Bishop + Young, and though it’s out of stock, we’re crossing our fingers it comes back since it’s the perfect sweater to wear under an open coat all season long.

If you want to try out Palermo's style, make sure to match your accessories to the hardware of the coat. She opted for a dainty gold choker, gold ring, and a small black bag with gold hardware. By exposing a bit of her cream colored sweater underneath her coat, the style star also adds a bit of contrast to her military look. At the very least, consider her outfit the perfect formula: cozy sweater + dramatic coat + comfy jeans and ankle boots = winter style perfection.
