The M.A.C. #Shadescent Collection Is Here and Blac Chyna Is the Campaign's First Face

If a Beauty Hall of Fame actually existed (Do our Best of Beauty Awards count? We have an Allure Hall of Fame, at least...) M.A.C.’s lipsticks would merit a wing of their own—if not take up half the place. From Ruby Woo to Candy Yum-Yum, their shades have earned a massive following, thanks to their bold colors, creamy texture, and ability to last through work, dinner, the party, and the after-party.

So it’s not exactly out-of-nowhere that the M.A.C. #Shadescent collection just dropped, a fragrance collection that's an olfactive shout-out to their lipsticks—specifically, those lipsticks so well-known that you don’t have to double-check the shade name when someone asks what color you’re wearing. The lipsticks have such a devoted fan base that it only makes sense the brand would offer a new way to wear them. These fragrances offer just that—except on your neck and wrists instead of the lips.

The collection of six scents includes Allure’s Best of Beauty winner Ruby Woo, now a woody floral scent that evokes rich, red leather, and Lady Danger, which is heavy on the cherry in both the bottle and in the tube. Hot pink Candy Yum-Yum smells like—you guessed it—cotton candy (in a good way), while Heroine’s bright purple gets re-imagined as a cool blend of smoke and leather. They’re joined by Crème d’Nude, which has the musky vibe of bare skin, and Velvet Teddy, a warm, honey scent that reflects the caramel color of its namesake.

Just as essential as the colors are the women who love them. That’s why, for this launch, M.A.C. tapped celebrity ambassadors based on the shades they love and wear. First up: Blac Chyna. The new mom and almost-Kardashian—if not yet in name, than definitely by hustle—took to Instagram to announce that she'll be representing the makeup brand and shared a picture of herself wearing her favorite lipstick shade, Candy Yum-Yum.

"Pink has always been a signature part of my look from head to toe and my signature pink Lipstick shade has always been @MACcosmetics eye catching Candy Yum Yum," Chyna wrote in the caption. "Pink is a powerful color women and girls use to embrace their femininity. It's strong and sexy! Now, I can express my vibrant personality in a new way with #MACShadescents. With six scents that are inspired by @MACcosmetics most iconic Lipstick shades, there is one for every personality. #IAmCandyYumYum – what’s your #MACShadescents?"

Along with Chyna, Tracey Ellis Ross, Ashley Benson, Kacey Musgraves and a slew of other influencers have 'grammed the #Shadescent they identify with. (You can check them all out below.) Plus, if your own staple lip color is included, show your love with the hashtags #IAmRubyWoo, #IAmCremedNude, #IAmMyHeroine, #IAmCandyYumYum, and #IAmLadyDanger. You can see all the girls' Instagrams below—but keep following the hashtags, of course.

And check out a few shots from the ad campaign, which will make you drool with anticipation, plus the full shade lineup. (I mean, what's better than fragrance and lipstick?)

The M.A.C. #Shadescent collection has six new scents for $57 each on maccosmetics.com and macys.com starting November 30th, and in stores on December 8th. The lipsticks, which are available now, you can grab for $17 each, which is a serious value considering how pigmented these lipsticks are (not to mention their serious staying power).
