Behold, the most memorizing waxing video you'll see all day.
If you've ever undergone a waxing procedure and thought to yourself, "Hmm, I wonder what this looks like from the other side of the table," the geniuses over at The Slo Mo Guys have got you covered. In fact, they're doing you one better by literally slowing down the hair-removal process (slo-mo style) in one of the most captivating videos on YouTube. (Trust.)
Gavin Free and Dan Gruchy, the hosts of the science- and technology-focused YouTube series, decided to test-drive an at-home hair-removal kit—and then film the results in slow motion using a Phantom V2511 slo-mo camera. (Which happens to be an extremely expensive camera that slows footage down to a stultifying 28,000 frames per second.) The result? A strangely-alarming-yet-fascinating waxing video that documents individual hair follicles being ripped from the skin—and we can't peel our eyes away.
In the clip, Gruchy volunteers to have a section of hair waxed off of his thigh in the name of science (and you know, short-lived Internet fame). And his reaction alone elicits a handful of cry-laughing emojis.
It's almost as cringe-worthy as YouTuber ItsYeBoi's 100-layer wax video from earlier this summer, which, according to the web series star, was "extremely painful." (Yeah, we don't doubt that for a second.)
If you managed to watch the clip in its entirety without wincing (major props to you), we've got to ask: How much are you beginning to question your next waxing appointment? Is your bi-monthly Brazilian really worth it? Just sayin'. Of course, you can also follow these pro tips for a seemingly painless experience, too.
