Politics just got even less sexy. This election cycle has been gross all around (see: the revolting highlights, including Donald Trump's disgusting comments about grabbing women by the you-know-what and the sexual assault allegations that have piled up against him), and there's really no way to get away from all this troubling news. So, it's no surprise that a recent study finds women are feeling overwhelmed, stressed, and therefore less into having sex. Great. Is it November 9 yet?
According to the study, which surveyed a small sample of approximately 900 female-identifying users on the fertility app Kindara, the election has had a generally negative impact on the sex lives of women who identify as Democrats. Though 45 percent of Republican women surveyed said they were most looking forward to having sex, compared to voting, on Election Day, the survey found that only 25 percent of Democrats are looking forward to sex. Similarly, 19 percent of Dem respondents indicated that the election has had a generally a negative impact on their sex lives, and only 50 percent of them said that they'd rather have sex than have missed one of the debates. On a more positive note for Democrats, they came off as more statistically open-minded, with "33 percent of Democrats reported their partner had a different political affiliation, versus 16 percent of Republicans." Tolerance is a virtue...for some of us.

Hopefully, self-care will be held in a higher regard after this whole thing is over. Silver linings, right?
