Beauty guru Aerin Lauder (yes, as in the granddaughter of OG beauty empire founder Estée) has made it pretty clear she knows what she’s doing. Since founding her own label aptly dubbed “Aerin” under the family company’s umbrella in 2012, the founder (who also serves as the style and image director for the Estée Lauder Companies, NBD) has made her fresh, young point of view perfectly clear. And now she’s bringing her perspective to a whole new game.
Having mastered the world of beauty (with the prettiest packaging to boot), Lauder is expanding into accessories with a line of equally fresh and pretty handbags and scarfs. Back in 2012, the mogul launched a line of upscale shoes, but her most recent foray into accessories marks a major refresh—think airy, Hamptons-ready raffia bags, lighter than air pastel scarfs, and dainty ballet flats—all with a major emphasis on editing. If the aesthetic looks familiar, you might say it’s because it feels like Aerin’s effortlessly feminine packaging come to life.

Priced between $40 (for a small raffia pouch) and $2,450 (for a ladylike shoulder bag), the new accessories collection, which is fronted by the effortlessly chic Olivia Palermo, has some serious standouts. There’s the perfectly minimalist calfskin pouch ready to hold all your under the radar goods; the lace-up suede ballet flats; and finally a structured suede shoulder bag with beach-themed embroidery. The collection is essentially designed to make you look like you brought the Hamptons home with you.
Despite the diversification, Lauder plans to keep her style super on brand, which she calls “elegant, luxurious, feminine effortlessness,” and won’t be designing clothing anytime soon, according to an interview with WWD. “I always say that beauty is very much my heritage, but home and accessories are my passion. The concept of lifestyle is more relevant than ever,” Lauder said. “Accessories were a wonderful place to start.”
She may not be getting into clothing, but it sounds like we’ll be able to give our homes an Aerin-worthy makeover in the near future. Here’s hoping.
