As the winner of a 2016 Best of Beauty award for sensitive skin, First Aid Beauty launched in 2009 as mindful skin care for the fussy complected. Hello FAB—"FAB" is the company's cheerful acronym, which you probably already got but took us a minute—is the latest from the brand, and it's a step away from skin care and towards makeup. A baby step. A healthy baby step. We'll stop.
Each of the four new products still uphold the same core tenets of the First Aid Beauty ethos. That is, they're free of known irritants like artificial color and fragrance, along with parabens, sulfates, and alcohol. If petro-chemicals are on your watchlist, the Hello FAB line also excludes petrolatum. They're also allergy-tested, and formulated to delivery high potency with relatively innocuous ingredients. The idea with Hello FAB is that each of the products—a towelette, a primer, a color-correcting palette and a mist—is a complexion-enhancer, allowing makeup to go on smoother, easier, and with better longevity.
Allow us to break them each down for you.

Hello FAB Caffeine Matcha Wake ($15)
Today anyone who wants a major dose of caffeine—and a decent Instagram shot—goes straight for matcha, a finely milled green tea powder that also happens to be a powerful antioxidant. These wipes are no exception, combining the camellia sinensis leaf extract with skin-tightening caffeine, hydrating hyaluronic acid and soothing aloe juice. What looks like a little old wipe is actually a powerfully cleansing and restorative towelette.
Hello FAB Coconut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturizer ($28)
You could choose to be a skeptic about two of the primary ingredients—coconut water and quinoa—in this pink-tinged primer. Or you could try it, and admit it's pretty genius. The coconut water is deeply hydrating and the protein-rich ancient grain is said to strengthen the skin's structure. We liked that it rubs in clear, but gives your complexion just a little something extra—leaving it bare, but also completely ready for a no makeup selfie.
Hello FAB 3 in 1 Superfruit Color Correcting Cushion ($36)
2016 was the year of the psychedelic/holographic/rainbow-inspired palette. Assuming you actually want to use pigments to downplay discoloration, this green, pink and purple swirl is a pretty good bet. Each color also is spiked with a botanical extract—kiwi, dragon fruit, and blueberry, respectively—that helps address the root cause of the flare-up. It also comes with a soft puff that makes it easy to tap out just the right amount of powder from the cushion without having to worry about muddy-looking streaks.
Hello FAB Vital Greens Face Mist ($18)
Whether or not you're someone who believes that superfoods can split the atom and foster world peace, you can't deny that at the very least, they're not a bad thing. And that's exactly what we'll say about this grassy-smelling mist that's miraculously loaded with kale, spinach, cucumber and spirulina. A few mists feel cooly restorative just about any time of day—morning, noon, or falling into bed later than you intended—plus, it goes right over makeup.
The Hello FAB collection is available now exclusively in Sephora stores and sephora.com, and ranges from $15-$36. If the ingredients are good enough for your Vitamix, they're probably even better for your skin.
