The Kat Von D Pastel Goth Palette Was Just Teased on Instagram (Update)

Update (December 19, 2016 5:30 p.m.): If you tuned into the Facebook Live session hosted by Kat Von D and Jerrod Blandino today, then you know there's some Kat Von D Pastel Goth Palette news. While answering questions from fans for the big Kat Von D x Too Faced collab, someone asked if Von D could share more info on the pastel rainbow-colored palette. This question got us so close to getting a peek at the inside of the highly anticipated palette, but unfortunately Von D didn't have one with her. However, she did reveal the palette will launch at the end of January or in early February. She also said they recently swatched the shades, so we should see them on social media soon. "It's gonna change your world," Von D said. We're sure it will.

Kat Von D is taking a page out of Jerrod Blandino's playbook and teasing upcoming palettes on her Instagram. Today, she posted a video revealing the cover of the Kat Von D Pastel Goth palette. In the caption, the cruelty-free-beauty mogul wrote, "I suggest you PREPARE YOURSELF... for the eyeshadow palette you thought I'd never make!" She is so right. We definitely need time to prepare ourselves and our bank accounts. She already had us sold on the Alchemist Palette, which comes out later this month, and we've been anxiously awaiting a peek at the Saints + Sinners Palette. But this one, well, it was definitely unexpected. Although the font on the palette is 100 percent on-brand, the pastel rainbow color scheme doesn't fit the tattoo artist's usual red-and-black, studded aesthetic. Regardless, we're pumped—as usual.

If you've never wasted time scrolling through Tumblr and have never heard of pastel goth before this moment, here's a quick way to sum it up. Imagine what Von D would look like if you replaced all the red with cotton candy colors. It's like the most girly version of goth you'll ever see, complete with rainbow hair, creepers, and skulls. It's pretty cute, you guys. Trust me. And this palette looks like it's going to be just like Von D captured it, with eye-shadow pans of sky blue, baby pink, lilac, lemon chiffon, and light green. We can't to see what's inside. In the meantime, you can watch the full Kat Von D Pastel Goth Palette reveal video below.
