Looks like our favorite person to follow on Snapchat has more to worry about right now than opening up the Kylie Shop. A Kylie Jenner lawsuit is currently in the works. If you haven't been keeping up, the beauty mogul and founder of Kylie Cosmetics was accused of copying makeup artist Vlada Haggerty's work. Two weeks ago, Haggerty, known for her liquid lip art, posted a side-by-side image of a look she created back in September for a "See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil"-themed shoot and a promo photo released for the Kylie Cosmetics holiday collection on Instagram. We must admit that the gold-covered hands and ombre red lips in each eye-covering look did look eerily similar. But as we noted in a previous story, the original photo concept references a Guy Bourdin image that appeared in French Vogue in 1970. However, Haggerty believes the similarities between the two looks are tantamount to straight-up theft.

Whether Jenner's alleged copying was intentional or not, Haggerty is not having it. WWD reports the Insta-famous makeup artist confirmed via email that a lawsuit is forthcoming. "Theft by big brands like Kylie Cosmetics from original artists without proper licensing and attribution must stop," Stephen McArthur of the McArthur Law Firm, who is representing the makeup artist, said in a statement.
McArthur also referenced a second claim: That Haggerty is known for a dripping lips motif in her work, and it's this same imagery that Kylie Cosmetics uses in their logo.
In the WWD article, which posted last Monday, November 28th, McArthur states that the Kylie Cosmetics crew could expect a lawsuit early in the week—a claim that we have yet to see materialize. We'll update this post as soon as we hear more.
