The Nivea Nourishing Body Oil Deserves a Spot in Your Winter Skin Routine

Move over, body lotion, there's a sexy new hydrator in town. Body oils, including the new Nivea Nourishing Body Oil, offer the same moisturizing benefits as its creamier cousins but with an added bonus: They make your skin glow. (And not in a greasy way, but we'll get to that later.)

Sure, the concept of a body oil isn't necessarily new, but we happen to think the Nivea Nourishing Body Oil deserves a little extra attention. Why, pray tell? A few reasons, actually. First and foremost, it smells amazing. Made with nourishing ingredients, including avocado and macadamia oils, its earthy and warm, clean and satisfying, and not one bit cloying, heavy, or musky.

Another reason why we're so giddy about this elixir? It actually works. Just a few drops of the oily goodness is more than enough to moisturize your entire body—limbs, belly, extremities, etc., especially on the days when the winter wind really wreaks havoc on your skin. In the winter, it's not uncommon to need a whole palmful of thick body creams to get a similar quench. The oil goes on silky smooth and quickly, meaning you don't have to use any elbow grease (or run down your precious morning minutes) to fully hydrate parched winter skin.

And unlike other all-over oils, this formula is far from sticky or greasy, and leaves behind a sexy, subtle sheen similar to our favorite highlighter (hi, ) after applying on wet skin (although it's worthy noting, it works on dry canvases, too!). Although it's not technically a hair oil, we found that the Nivea Nourishing Body Oil also doubles as a strand smoothing treatment, as one editor applied it to her ends to slick down lifted cuticles and tame frizz.

But probably the most appealing aspect of this hydrator is that...wait for it...it only costs $12. For a treatment as a luxe as this one (and believe us when we say you'll feel like a million bucks after applying), it's hard to believe you can find it on the shelves of your local drugstore (as well as at Target and Walmart locations). If there's one new product we suggest adding to your cold-weather routine pronto, this has got to be our top pick.
