I have no idea what I'm doing next year, let alone tomorrow. Jerrod Blandino, however, is already in a 2018 state of mind—and it's all about Too Faced Glitter Eyeliner. Yup, while I'm still figuring out what I want for dinner tonight, the cofounder of one of the most popular beauty companies of the moment is thinking of their next big thing in years to come. With the success of the Sweet Peach Eye Shadow Palette (and, inevitably, the upcoming collection based on it), Blandino has a pretty awesome track record so far, so I'll trust his process. He also has more resources than ever. Last month, Estée Lauder bought Too Faced for a whopping $1.45 billion. That's a lot of Chocolate Bar Palettes.
With his genius mind (come on, peach-scented lip oil (!!)), Blandino plans to take a trend that Allure editors and celebs can't get enough of right now to the next level. WWD reported that Blandino revealed in a recent Q-and-A session that Too Faced is "reimagining glitter in 2018." I don't think I can wait that long, you guys.
2017 Too Faced launches we are looking forward to:
- Yay! Another Too Faced Collaboration Is Coming
- Too Faced Is Launching Setting Spray, Proving Dreams Do Come True
- OMG—There's Another Too Faced Peanut Butter Palette
With all the launches coming up next year, Blandino somehow found time to come up with his first plan of action for Too Faced's glitter reinvention. “I created an eyeliner that’s fully glitter, but will peel off like latex rubber so it doesn’t get everywhere,” he said at the Q-and-A. “I don’t always want to do something better, I want to do it different. That’s how you change the world. You don’t change the world by doing it better.” Preach. We can't wait to try out this magical liner. Consider us at the top of the waitlist.
If you go on Too Faced website right now, you'll noticed that the only product under the "Glitter & Shimmer" section is the Glitter Glue. Other than that, the company's only recent forays into the glitzy arena have been loose glitter came with Nikkie Tutorials collab set and countless shimmery shadows in their palettes. OG Too Faced fans, however, may remember when the company launched almost a decade ago with the world's first glitter eye shadow. It's safe to say, this isn't Blandino's first glitter rodeo. And we're so excited for his next one.
