Why the Shiseido 7 Color Powders Revival Centennial Edition Set Deserves a Spot on Your Vanity

Move over, creamy color correctors: There's a new set of skin-evening formulas in town, and they now come in powder form. Allow us to introduce you to the just-launched Shiseido 7 Color Powders Revival Centennial Edition set, which features—count 'em—seven color-correcting powders.

In honor of Shiseido's O.G. Rainbow Beauty Powder, which launched in 1917 (almost 100 years ago!), the beauty giant just dropped a gorgeous, limited-edition set of color-correcting powders, all neatly packaged in small satin cream-colored boxes reminiscent of sweet little engagement ring boxes. (Sadly, no sparklers were stashed in these mini cases.)

Like other color correctors on the market, these powders are designed to cover specific issues. So, for example, white, which should be applied to the T-zone, brightens; yellow evens out the complexion all over; beige smooths texture; rose, which should be brushed on the apples of cheeks, gives skin a subtle flush; peony can also be applied to cheeks to create a glow-y look; green conceals redness and spots; and finally, lavender brightens under eyes. My favorite? Hands down, the green powder, which comes in handy mid-day when my BB cream begins to wear off and the redness starts to seep through. But probably the most appealing aspect of these color-correctors is that along with covering my blemishes, these compact powders are made with good-for-your-skin ingredients, like hyaluronic acid, to help hydrate and plump skin under makeup. Double win.
