We all love Zac Posen for his collection of stunning architectural dresses. Favored by the likes of Naomi Campbell and Uma Thurman, his voluminous gowns look like they've been plucked straight out of a fairy tale—case in point: Claire Danes’s Cinderella-worthy 2016 Met Gala gown. The multi-talented designer's list of accolades include a CFDA award, limited-edition collection with Target, and a Project Runway gig. What's next for the designer who's done it all? His first-ever shoe collection.
Posen partnered with Stefano Maroni, an Italian who hails from a family of shoemakers, to create the namesake line for pre-fall. “You know the expression ‘Italians Do It Better’? When it comes to shoes, I wouldn’t do it differently for a collection-level shoe; it’s part of the history of the craft that I appreciate and respect,” the designer told WWD.

Similar to his ready-to-wear clothing, Posen’s shoe collection is full of architectural lines, geometrical cuts, and detailed embroidery. Priced between $525 to $1,400, the luxe collection has some serious standouts. There's the Inez, a boot made out of mixed materials like suede, leather, and patent; the Marilyn, a sexy pump with pleat detailing; and the Taylor, an evening wear flat with laces across the instep. Since Posen has a history of dressing Hollywood A-listers, it makes perfect sense that he'd take inspiration (and names) from some of his favorite female muses.
And like their iconic styles, all the pieces in the trend-proof collection will remain your closet staples for years to come. From the dainty flat to the glove-like boot, each shoe is equally appropriate for the office or a night out on the town.
