After years of dyeing her hair basically every shade of ROYGBIV, Paramore's Hayley Williams has been taking a break from color. Lately, her hair has been a bright shade of platinum blonde. (Yup, even she's not used to the low-key look.) Today, she got to go back to her roots, though. (Pun intended.)
Williams just revealed a temporary hair color paste from GoodDyeYoung, the hair brand she started with her hair and makeup extraordinaire Brian O'Connor, exclusively to Allure. Poser Paste lets you instantly change your hair color, and Williams did just that this morning.
Before heading out for the day, she turned her blonde bangs into an electric shade of orange, aptly named Riot. The process only took about five minutes. "I just put it in, brushed it out and layered some more on there to give it a little more pigment," she explained. "Then I brushed it out and curled it." And as soon as she's sick of it, she can wash it out as quickly as it took her to apply it.

Williams's colored bangs are just one of the myriad of ways you can use the new Poser Paste. O'Connor showed Allure editors how to mix together two out of the four shades — Ex-girl (a hot pink) and Blue Ruin (an electric blue) — to create a custom purple shade.
Then, he raked the color through the long, straight black hair of Jesa Calaor, our editorial assistant. Both Jesa and I were skeptical about how it would look on her dark hair, but the color showed up amazingly. Within minutes, the whole left side of her hair was a gorgeous lilac shade that looked completely convincing as permanent hair dye.
The neon paste is so blendable and touchable that it practically melts into hair. It won't sit atop of it like a colored gel or spray — well, unless you want it to. You can also smear the paste on strands as you slick your hair back to create a fluorescent version of the wet-hair look. "We want people to have the chance to be creative with their look," Williams says.

Have a buzzcut? You can stencil on fun shapes with the Poser Paste, too.

If you can't choose just one shade, try some color blocking. (BTW, it works beautifully on curly hair. O'Connor recommends scrunching it into your hair as you would with curl cream to maintain the shape of your ringlets.)

And if all else fails, you can just cover all of your hair in it to add some texture. You can also curl your hair after the Poser Paste dries, and it will help hold the style for longer.
