Fenty Beauty Fans Rally for Woman Who Was Told Her Lips Are "Too Big" for Red Lipstick

When Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty line launched earlier this year, it made major strides in beauty inclusivity, offering a huge selection of foundation shades to suit all skin tones.

But the brand’s inclusivity doesn’t stop with its foundation — or with its direct product sales — as was made clear by a recent viral Instagram comment and subsequent post on Fenty’s page. It all started when 20-year-old Grace (Naa Atswei) Boye commented on this post of beauty vlogger Aysha Harun rocking Fenty’s new Stunna Lip Paint. “I want to try this out soo bad,” Grace wrote. “I’ve been told Red doesn’t suit me...my lips are too big...😔”

Fellow Fenty fans immediately jumped in to assure Grace that, no, her lips are not too big, and yes, she can rock this lip shade (and whatever other color she wants). “Your lips are perfect, whoever told you that is dead wrong! You should get it!” one user commented. “Girl please! It’ll be pretty on you! To me, the color is even more bold and beautiful with fuller lips,” another wrote.

But fans weren’t the only ones who gave Grace some (highly inspirational) love. The Fenty Beauty account added to the conversation, too, tagging Grace (who goes by @n0bleprincess on Instagram) and writing, “this red is for EVERYONE 😘🙋🏿🙋🏾🙋🏽🙋🏼🙋🏻.” Screenshots of the exchange were then reposted to Fenty’s page with the caption, “The #FENTYBEAUTY sisterhood is real!! We ❤️ ya’ll.”

And RiRi’s company didn’t stop there. According to BuzzFeed, Fenty contacted Grace and is planning to send her a Stunna lip paint of her own.

The responses meant a lot to Grace, who told BuzzFeed that she was bullied about her gap teeth and full lips since she was a kid, which is why she thinks her comment struck such a chord. “A lot of girls can relate to it,” she said. “I’ve been getting messages from girls telling me they went through the same thing.”

For Grace, being told her “hot red and hot pink” lip colors didn’t look good so many times led to her giving them away, deleting pictures of her wearing them from her Instagram page, and going lip color-free ever since.

So, will she try the Stunna now? “I’m thinking I’m gonna try it and then just show them!” she told BuzzFeed.We can’t wait to see.
