"Gingerbread Latte Hair" Is the New Cookie-Inspired Color Trend for Winter

’Tis the season to coordinate your hair color with a cozy-sounding winter drink: the gingerbread latte. As found by Popsugar, the delicately spicy-yet-sweet concoction does more than just serve as a midday pick-me-up. It’s one of the many food- and drink-related hair trends that have sparked some serious beauty inspo.

We recently talked about how the internet went crazy over hot toddy hair, an updated bronde (in other words, blonde with a touch of auburn). Gingerbread latte hair, on the other hand, has a rich chocolate brown base with soft, cinnamon ribbon-like highlights throughout. “Everything is swirled together and looks very yummy!” says Chris Greene, colorist at Mèche Salon in Beverly Hills.

Gingerbread latte hair is good for those with darker hair since it adds a perfectly buttery dimension without the need to stray too far from your natural hair color. “The difference between the base and highlights is only a few levels of lightness,” Greene adds. “The root is still dark, making this color low-maintenance.”

Tricia LaManna, owner of Beautified Suite in New York City notes that skin tone can really stand out to the intensity of a deep, rich brown hair color. “Add some strategically-placed highlights in a subtle gold or honey if you want to create depth. The mixture of ebony brown, mocha, and violet-based colors will enhance the natural warm undertones of the skin.”

Sweet deal. Once you go for gingerbread latte hair, you might just be tempted to keep the color all year long.
