You might know Herbivore Botanicals for its drool-worthy Instagram feed, filled with minimalist vials of oils (the ocean blue Lapis Facial Oil for acne-prone skin, for instance) or jars of irresistible exfoliating scrubs (like the Coco Rose Body Polish). This natural brand boasts almost 200,000 followers on Insta and has already made it into the doors of Sephora. The products are still, however, handmade and packed in Seattle, where the married founders live and work.
Until today, Herbivore had just one lilac-hued moisturizer made for nighttime usage (the colors of this brand's products are simply too good not to note), but as of today, there's a new member of the Herbivore fam. Introducing, the Pink Cloud Rosewater Moisture Creme. Founders Julia and Alex note that this cream was inspired by the soft pink clouds of a Hawaiian sunset. (Swoon.)
This cream has been almost two years in the making after the brand's fans and customers continually requested a cream for daily use. "We wanted the cream to be lightweight yet effective, quick to absorb and soothing to the skin," the founders said on Instagram. What they didn't want the formula to include was acrylate polymers (a.k.a. plastics), which clog pores and can be absorbed by the skin into the body. Ultimately, time paid off because this lightweight, gently scented cream is a joy to apply. Made for daytime use, the moisturizer also works as a primer and gives a smooth base on which to apply makeup.
Unsurprisingly, rosewater is a key ingredient in the formulation. In combination with calming aloe water and antioxidant-rich white tea extract, this powerful trio hydrates, soothes, and reduces redness. One thing elevating this cream's formulation is the inclusion of Aspen bark, a natural source of salicylic acid, which gently exfoliates dead skin cells. Sodium hyaluronate (the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid) provides intense moisture. The result? Clear, plumped skin, with a dewy finish.
Oh, and if you're wondering where that perfect millennial pink hue comes from (told you the colors are gorg!), the answer is eggplant! Want the new Pink Cloud Rosewater Moisture Creme? Us, too. Scoop it up for $48 a jar at herbivorebotanicals.com.
