Stila Glitter and Glow Highlighter Is on Its Way in 2018

This time last year, I tried out Stila's Glitter and Glow Liquid Eye Shadow for the first time at a holiday party and fell in love deeper than the Mariana Trench. All throughout 2017, I've loaded my lids in glittery wings and recreated Pat McGrath's glitter tears. And I'm not the only one obsessed with the shimmery stuff. Several shades have repeatedly sold out since its launch.

Stila took note and recently launched a glitter-free version of the liquid eye shadow that has more of a glossy effect. That's not all it has up its sleeve, either. In spring 2018, Stila is launching a Glitter and Glow Highlighter. It takes everything we've come to know and love about the eye-shadow version and applied it to cheekbones.

As the first-ever liquid highlighter for the beauty brand, you can expect pearlescent pigments and finely-milled glitter floating around in a watery serum-like base. This formula description should sound familiar since it's about the same as the Glitter and Glow Shadow, but the only difference is Stila made sure the highlighter was friendly for the rest of the face. Now, blending the highlighter onto the tops of your cheekbones won't mess up the foundation you took time seamlessly blending to airbrushed perfection. Instead, you'll be left with a dewy, prismatic glow.

You'll be able to choose from five holographic shades of the Glitter and Glow Highlighter. Upon first glance, I'm having a seriously hard time picking which one I'll be adding to my makeup routine. On the more neutral side of the color spectrum, there's Kitten. Just like the beloved Stila products of the same name, it is also a gorgeous champagne shade. However, in this liquid highlighter form, Kitten is flecked with gold and silver glitter.

There's also Painted Lady, which is a rose gold hue with golden flecks. For the more unicorn-inspired hues, Queen (a lilac with pink and purple glitter) and Monarch (iridescent pink with green, pink, and silver shimmer) fit the bill. I'm looking forward to seeing the final shade in action: Admiral. It's a mint green with a blue and purple shift. As someone who likes highlighter to make me look like an alien disguised as a human (seriously), I'm looking forward to testing Admiral out (and probably covering my whole face with it).

I apologize for getting your hopes up about the Stila Glitter and Glow Highlighter. As mentioned, you won't be able to shop it just yet. It won't be launching until spring 2018 for $30 on sephora.com and ulta.com. Stay tuned for an exact date to mark on your calendar.
