It’s rare that a makeup drop can get your '90s-loving inner child just as excited as your current self. (See: Glamour Dolls x Lisa Frank.) For beauty-loving '90s gamers, we've got four words for you: video game makeup collab. A new video game-inspired line of makeup launching this spring is about to give you a whole new reason to get stoked.
Espionage Cosmetics, which specializes in nerd-inspired makeup, is working on a line of compacts shaped exactly like old school Gameboy video game cartridges. The Cartridge Compact Kits ($15) fit an interchangeable eye shadow and come in one of three throwback styles: a cheeky take on Chomp Cat, as well as a Zelda-inspired and a Tetris look-alike version.
In case you’ve missed the 90s renaissance, beauty collabs that marry all the awesome feelings you once got from getting a new pencil pouch or Polly Pocket with modern day kickass makeup are having a major moment. And video game-inspired beauty, in particular, is hard not to stan for. By the looks of it, these Nerd Makeup compacts will just as addictive as racking up a new Tetris score.
As Popsugar reports, the compacts won’t actually be available until May of 2018 but you can preorder the gamer-friendly beauty goodie now. Score.
