It's ultra-soothing, smells like your favorite healthy summer snack, and is consistently sold out at Sephora. Anyone who's up to snuff on their Korean skin-care news knows I'm referring to Glow Recipe's fan-favorite Watermelon Sleeping Mask, a multi-tasking nighttime treatment that works to resurface the skin while it hydrates. Based on its perennial sellout status, it's safe to say people are smitten with the stuff, so it gives me great pleasure to announce that the K-Beauty brand is officially coming out with a second (!) watermelon-infused product, and it's happening soon.
Thanks to — where else? — but the Asian Beauty subreddit, we now know a sister skin-care product is in the works; however, that's, unfortunately, all we know at this point. "First came our Watermelon Sleeping Mask. Now, its glowy sister is coming for your bathroom shelfie," an online flyer from glowrecipe.com reads. It also notes that you should sign up for the brand's newsletter to get exclusive early access (I repeat: exclusive. early. access.) which you may want to jump on, stat.
If you're a newcomer to the world of watermelon skin care, here's why you should care: The water-saturated fruit is chock-full of skin-supporting ingredients, like vitamins C, A, and B6, all of which work in tandem to tame and hydrate inflamed skin. What's more: It also smells like straight-up fresh, juicy fruit.
Glow Recipe's treatment jelly-like formula comes in a calming baby-pink color that makes me want to slather my face in it every single night. Because these minor (though, no less important) details matter. And I think I speak for my fellow skin-care fanatics when I say I fully expect the not-yet-released product to be just as good — if not better.
So friends, tell me: What do you think it will be? I personally wouldn't be mad at an overnight lip mask, a watermelon-packed pimple cream, or a sweet-smelling facial mist, but hey, that's just me. Regardless, be sure to stay tuned for updates on the official launch date. You know we'll be the first to let you know.
Excited about what Glow Recipe Skincare is cooking up? Us, too. Unfortunately, you'll have to wait May 1 to add the Blueberry Bounce Cleanser and Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask to your skin-care stash when the line becomes available at glowrecipe.com for $34 and $45, respectively.
