Maybelline Extends Shade Range for Two Concealers

There are few things more frustrating than having your sights set on a specific concealer or foundation, only to get to the store and find out they don't have your shade. Many of us have been there. But for women of color, this is a far, far more pervasive problem. Despite seeing some progress in recent years, many makeup brands still fail to offer a realistic selection of inclusive hues that cater to everyone. It's 2018, people, step up.

This isn't to say there haven't been any strides, though. And with Fenty Beauty setting the new standard, more and more brands are finally getting on board. Lucky for all you drugstore-loving babes out there, Maybelline seems to be one of them. According to a representative from the brand, the "Maybe she's born with it" makeup giant has extended the shade ranges of its Instant Age Rewind and Fit Me concealer collections to include both lighter and darker shades, as well as more undertones, too. Does this mean that people with Albinism and skin tones deeper than Rihanna can now wear Maybelline's fan-favorite concealers? I'd certainly sure hope so.

Everyone's go-to Instagram source for makeup news, @trendmood1 posted about the extension, and the comment section is overflowing with excitement from people who will finally be able to buy the brand's concealer. "About damn time!! 👏🏾👏🏾" wrote one user. "I am in the shade Caramel in both!!😩😍 So proud of Maybelline," wrote another.

Needless to say, this is a step in the right direction, and we can only hope that now, even more affordable brands will follow suit. In the meantime, you can snag your shade at Walmart and Target stores, as well their respective websites, right now.
