Pixi Beauty Rose Tonic Reduced My Facial Redness - Review

Behold, a skin-nourishing, ultra-soothing sister to Pixi Beauty's fan-favorite Glow Tonic is here — and it was specifically formulated for sensitive skin-types, like myself. To be perfectly honest, I don't know if I've ever found a reason to rave about a toner before, but this product single-handedly changed that. It's the exception! (OK, maybe that's stretching it a bit, but you get the idea). It's quite good, and not in a fancy, costs-you-an-arm-and-a-leg kind of way. More like in a no-bullshit, contains-skin-loving-ingredients-that-actually-work kind of way.

Enough chit-chat, though — here's what you need to know. Dubbed the Rose Tonic, the exfoliating solution contains a wealth of rose flower extract, which works to both moisturize and rejuvenate fragile and easily irritated complexions. It also is chock-full of other skin-loving ingredients, such as elderflower, which brightens and gently resurfaces the skin, while aloe vera and chamomile act like a comforting blanket, aiding in banishing dry spots and reducing redness.

The day this pretty pink bottle landed on my desk, my skin was in a woeful state: blotchy, dry, and flaking around the mouth from a mud mask trial run gone wrong. I didn't have high hopes, but figured it couldn't hurt to try considering the ingredient list looked promising. That night, after cleansing my skin, I squirted some on a cotton pad and swept it gently over my skin, making sure to focus on areas where I was experiencing the most inflammation. When I looked in the mirror post-application, what I saw nearly made my jaw drop. My skin was decidedly calmer in color, as the redness had gone down significantly.

I was ecstatic. I even applied a second coating of the stuff (for good measure) and went on with the rest of my routine. The following morning, my skin still appeared clearer than usual, and when I used it after my morning cleanse, I was happily met with the same results. And while I've only been using it for a few days now, it oddly feels like it's about the become my new favorite skin-care product — and that's saying a lot, considering how many moisturizers, cleansers, and toners we try at Allure.

Needless to say, if you suffer from sensitive skin that reacts to everything, I highly recommend giving this toner a try. I happen to love it more than the brand's OG Glow Tonic, but that's just me. Snag your own bottle for $15 at pixibeauty.com. You can thank me later.
