Note to makeup brands: Ads are great for product awareness, but nothing sells a foundation quite like an acne-suffering social media star proving first-hand how well it covers her breakouts and scars. Instagram beauty buff Kadeeja Khan, aka @emeraldxbeauty, was given a preview sample of Makeup Revolution's new Fast Base Foundation Stick, and in less than a minute, she made an amazing case for buying it when it launches on Wednesday.
"So I’m very fussy & scared when I pick a foundation," Khan wrote in the caption of her silent yet expressive video, which starts with her seemingly freaking out over the red and bumpy state of her skin. "I love going bare faced but when I like to glam up I really do! I don’t want a foundation that makes my acne look worse than what it is. I don’t want a foundation that can see my green corrector beneath." Preach.
Khan actually applies the Makeup Revolution foundation stick without applying green corrector first, and the look on her face mirrors the looks on ours: incredulity. Right before our eyes, a few light-handed lines of the stick completely cover her redness. She then blends to cover half her face, showing a significant difference between the two sides.
"I never in a million years would think my go to foundation would be a drugstore product! I always thought the more expensive the product the better the outcome," she continues, going on to say the foundation stick is "GOD SENT. This foundation is ONLY £5! It has the same coverage or even better than some high end products! You only need one light layer of it." Khan enthusiastically recommends it for everyone, especially those on a budget, since it's less than $7.
It's not yet known if the 18 shades of Makeup Revolution Fast Base Foundation Stick will become available in the US on Wednesday, but it will definitely be worth checking Revolutionbeautyusa.com, the brand's official US site, and Ulta.com, which carries the brand, to see if their inventory gets updated.
