Carrie Underwood to Debut Healing Face at 2018 Academy of Country Music Awards

Carrie Underwood is seriously living up to the title of one of her newest song releases, "The Champion." For those who aren't in the know, the country singer suffered a nasty fall outside her home in Tennessee back in November before the holiday season that caused an injury to her wrist as well as a facial injury that resulted in over 40 stitches. Since then, she's been playing it pretty low-key on social media, sharing selfies where only part of her face is showing, and she hasn't made any appearances at any major events. That is, until now, at the Academy of Country Music Awards.

Just last week, Underwood updated fans to say that her face was "healing pretty nicely" and that this time of what she calls "forced relaxation" has been good for her. However, it also sounds like she's ready to keep doing what she's best at, which of course is making music and performing. As such, Underwood shared a preview to her Academy of Country Music Awards performance with a full-face selfie this weekend, and fans were super supportive.

According to E!, Underwood is nominated in two categories for the 2018 Academy of Country Music Awards, both as Female Vocalist of the Year and for Vocal Event of the Year for the song "The Fighter" with Keith Urban. Since this particular award ceremony is likely a comfortable and happy place for Underwood (she's won nine awards in prior years) it's a great place for her to step back into the spotlight.
