Fix a Broken Compact With Alcohol (VIDEO)

Every time one of my powder compacts accidentally flies to the ground, I get just about as nervous as when I drop my iPhone. When it's completely intact, my heart can return to its regular 60 to 100 beats per minute. However, when it shatters, my heart spikes to 400 beats per minutes and I start wishing time machines were actually a thing. Luckily, there's a hack for that. You can fix a broken compact with some good old vodka. The dirty martini kind. The jello shot kind. The you-get-the-picture kind. We've heard about using coconut oil to remove makeup, and Elmer's Glue for precise manicures, but vodka to fix a broken compact? That's news to us. And we're raising a glass to this hack.

For the latest video in our Beauty Hack series, we'll show you how a capful of alcohol that you have around the house—or can very readily acquire—can more helpful than you thought for bringing your crumbled palette back to life. Yes, you can actually fix a broken compact. Combined with some gentle blending with your fingertips, a shattered blush, a smashed highlighter, a fractured eye shadow, or a splintered powder foundation can be totally restored to its former glory. And it's not like, just kind of better, like when you put that glass film over a cracked iPhone screen. It's actually just like new after it dries. Sad, broken compacts are no longer destined to be deep sixed with this genius, 40 percent ABV hack. And while you're at it, pour some out for your pre-hack broken compact homies.

And now for some incredible hairspray hacks...
