The Holographic Lip Gloss Dupes for the Sold Out Sigma Set

We probably don't have to remind you that holographic lip gloss exists. News of the neon, color-shifting gloss that looks like someone cracked open a glow stick and poured it into a tube spread like wildfire over the past week. They blew up on Instagram so big time this week, there's a very good chance your grandma even heard about them, especially if she's handy on her iPad. Earlier this week, Sigma's five-piece set of Lip Switches sold out the day it went on sale. And today, the only shade available individually is Flip-Flop (a fiery orange). While we patiently wait for Sigma to restock all five of the majestic shades of their cult-favorite glosses, you can try out one of these four alternatives. Trust us when we say, they're pretty darn close to the next best thing.

Inglot AMC Lip Gloss ($18)

This week, one of our editors remembered this gloss came out several years ago and thought it might have been Sigma's inspiration. Little did we know, the Lip Switches have been around since 2014. (How did we just find out about them?) Good news: It's still around and is launching online any day now. The 3D-effect gloss comes in six shades that are as close to the sold-out Sigma Lip Switch selection as you're going to get.

BareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lip Gloss Iridescent Topcoat ($18)

I was surprised as you probably are when I found out BareMinerals has a holographic lip gloss. Incorrectly, I thought they were all neutrals all the time. But this stuff is just as fun to look at as the Lip Switches, and it has the same duochrome finish.

Bite Beauty Opal Lip Gloss ($22)

This pearly pigment may not have the same mesmerizing allure as the Lip Switches from inside the bottle. However, when its brushed on lips, the gloss has a rainbow-like shine that will make you feel like Starlite, the unicorn Rainbow Brite rode.

Milk Makeup Holographic Stick ($28)

Okay, this might not be a gloss, but hear me out. Rub your finger on the multi-use stick to warm it up before tapping the lavender-tinted product on your lips. It will give your pout the same color-shifting results. (It's meant for cheekbones and browbones, too, and it also looks great when used as directed.)

Holographic lip gloss needs to be added to this history lesson:
