The Most Googled Jewelry Item in the World Is...

Leave it to a Kylie Jenner-related fashion emergency to help launch a million Google searches—and, of course, the most googled jewelry item in the world.

Jewelry company Karus Chains looked into the most searched for jewelry items, brands and trends of the year and the Cartier LOVE bracelet was the most Google jewelry item — most likely due to Jenner sharing a hilarious anecdote back in January about getting the bracelet stuck on her wrist for four (!) years. (For the record: We'd do a lot of terrible things to get the Cartier LOVE bracelet stuck on our own wrists for four years.)

Karus' study, which was published in April 2016—but recently resurfaced—found that the Cartier LOVE bracelet was searched for at a significantly higher rate than the other accessories: Specifically, 353,840 times a month versus "just" 85,630 searches per month for the second-highest search item, Tiffany & Co. engagement rings. The Cartier LOVE bracelet that Jenner undoubtedly popularized (although we'd argue we've wanted one for as long as we can remember) starts at a cool $6,700 for the 14K gold version, and could potentially cost over double, if made from platinum and if it has diamonds studded throughout. (We'd also like to mention it's been a red-carpet staple long before the reality TV star showed it off on social media. Everyone from Demi Lovato and Katie Holmes to Salma Hayek and Cameron Diaz have been seen sporting the thin gold bangle.) So is it even possible to be surprised at the idea that the most Googled jewelry item in the world is indeed the LOVE bracelet? Take this photographic evidence as proof that it's not.

And, unsurprisingly, engagement rings were by and large the most searched for accessory for women with more than a staggering 14 million searches every month — the no. 2 spot goes to diamond earrings which pales in comparison at just below 300,000 searches per month.
