The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is a virtual carousel of gleaming limbs, loose hair, fluttery lashes, and elaborate lingerie ensembles. But it takes a lot of glitz—and even more elbow grease—to turn mere mortals into Victoria’s Secret Angels. We found out exactly how many resources went into the show, from the number of gems glinting on this year’s Fantasy Bra to the number of nail files it’ll take to make every blown kiss look absolutely perfect. (Including some some exclusive numbers you’ll only find on Allure.) May we present the most detailed look at the making of the show yet:
9,000: Diamonds, emeralds, and other gemstones encrusted on this year's Fantasy Bra, which was by designed by Eddie Borgo will be worn by model Jasmine Tookes. It's also worth $3 million dollars and took 700 hours to craft.
82: Total number of complete looks that will be presented on the runway by the star-studded crew of 51 models. (And if you just can't stand the suspense, here's our round-up of all the looks we've already spotted around the web.)
3: Liters of Vita Liberata Spray Tan Solution it will take to tan the models' 204 total limbs. Makeup artists will also make their way through 48 bottles of Vita Liberata Phenomenal 2-3 Week Tan Mousse, 12 tubes of Vita Liberata Body Blur Instant HD Skin Finish, and 50 tanning mitts. (If all this tan talk is making you feel pasty, may we suggest our indispensable 10 Commandments of Sunless Tanner.)
1,700: Bottles of Max Factor Foundation that will be deployed by lead makeup artist Tom Pecheux, who will also oversee a team of 36 other makeup artists to get the job done. They'll also swipe with 50 wands of Max Factor Epic Mascara, moisturize with 72 bottles of Victoria’s Secret Body Care, and mist their way through 36 bottles of the new Victoria’s Secret Paris fragrance.
31: Hairstylists on the team lead by Sarah Potempa, who will enhance models' natural hair texture as needed with 340 Beachwaver heated hair tools and 108 duckbill clips.
54: Number of toe separators the team of 11 manicurists has on hand, along with 600 nail files and buffers, 400 nail wipes, 100 bottles each of base coat, top coat and Red Carpet Manicure LED Gel Polish and Nail Lacquer, and 50 bottles of remover. (They're professionals, but they're not perfect!)
84: Bottles of Decleor Aromessence Serum that will soak into models' complexions before they take a single step down the runway.
5: Day in December the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show will air on CBS at 10PM EST.
