Say goodbye to endless free underwear from Victoria's Secret. The lingerie empire will no longer bestow those "free panty" coupons upon us, reports The Washington Post. At a meeting with investors this week, Victoria's Secret executives said that the idea of the coupons, to get customers into the stores for the free panty and then convince them to pick up some other items while they were there, was no longer working. They revealed that 40 percent of the customers who redeem free undies don't actually end up buying anything else. One exec also noted that the constant promotions were "cheapening the brand." The company is instead revamping its beauty line and investing in offerings such as sports bras with the ultimate goal of distinguishing itself from its competitors.
The end of the "free panty" coupon is just the latest in a long line of adjustments at Victoria's Secret. Back in April, the brand revealed that it was discontinuing its swimwear line, and soon after, confirmed it would also no longer sell apparel, shoes, and accessories. Then, Victoria's Secret eliminated its iconic catalogue.

Free panty coupons, you will be sorely missed. At least the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show isn't going anywhere.
