Exclusive: Meet Laura Polko, Aussie's New Brand Ambassador

She's styled the strands of Hollywood's "It" girls like Chrissy Teigen, Olivia Munn, and Lea Michele, she's a reigning member of Patrick Ta's elite pro squad, and now, hairstylist Laura Polko is adding one more role to her repertoire: She's fittingly been tapped as Aussie's newest brand ambassador. To learn more about her new gig with the purple-bottled hair-care brand, we sat down with Polko to chat all things Aussie, her must-have stylers, and more.

Tell me about your new role with Aussie. How exciting!

"Everyone my age definitely knows Aussie, so there’s a really great nostalgia about it. It’s really fun to be a part of a brand that’s been around forever because people have nothing but good things to say about it. So I think that’s exciting, and I'm excited to bring [the brand] into a new light."

What's your best styling tip?

"No matter what you’re trying to achieve with your hair, keeping it simple and doing what works for you and knowing how to do it in a short amount of time is the most important thing. And that starts with the prep. If your hair feels good from the start—and it's healthy and shiny—everyone is going to love it. Shiny, healthy hair with a little lift at the root is all girls want at the end of the day. Anything you style from there, as long as you keep it easy, and you don’t get too hard on yourself, I think that's all that matters. Keep it easy."

Which Aussie products are you currently obsessing over?

"The 7-in-1 Dry Shampoo is great because it's dry shampoo...and everyone loves dry shampoo. You really can’t go wrong with dry shampoo. But it has the tapioca starch in it, so it kind of gives me a little volume and absorbs all of the oil, which is really helpful because I have super-fine hair. (Ed note: Same, girl.) The tapioca starch is really helpful because gives hair a little lift." (Pro tip: “I like to spray it more in the back and it’ll give a little lift up back there.”)
