Forever 21’s New Online Feature Is Shopping Magic

If you’re reading this, you probably like to shop. Money can't buy happiness, but it can buy shoes. And that’s close enough.

But, shopping at fast-fashion stores (read: Forever 21) can be a massive headache. Of course, you can shop online, but even that has drawbacks. Without trying on an item first — whether it be shoes, or a fancy dress— you can’t tell if you’ll love it, or if it will fit.

That’s where Forever 21’s new online feature comes in. As Cosmopolitan reports, the fast-fashion retailer recently launched a major upgrade to its website, replacing still product shots with short videos of a model wearing the item and modeling it in motion. This provides the shopper with a much clearer idea of the product’s fit, drape and movement, effectively eliminating what is, perhaps, the only drawback to online shopping. Though the new feature hasn’t been rolled out site-wide yet (you’ll only find the videos for a handful of items on Forever 21’s site, we have a feeling it’ll only be a matter of time before the entire website — and the rest of the e-commerce industry — catches up. Truthfully, we’re a bit mystified nobody thought of using videos as a marketing tool sooner.

Unsurprisingly, Twitter is all over the site upgrade, with many pointing out the similarities between Forever 21’s moving ads and the moving pictures imagined in the Harry Potter series. And while we know Forever 21’s new online feature includes GIFs, and not actually enchanted photos, we can’t deny that the effect is, well, magical.
