After staging what is basically fashion's version of a world tour in cities like Dallas, Salzburg, and Rome, Chanel returned home to Paris to showcase designer Karl Lagerfeld's latest Métiers d'Art collection for the brand. Tuesday's runway show took place at the newly opened Ritz, the hotel where Coco Chanel resided in for more than 37 years. And in typical Lagerfeld fashion, the event featured luxe and decidedly French ensembles and a bevy of high-profile celebs. The house's campaign star, 17-year-old Lily-Rose Depp, made her catwalk debut, wearing a gold-sequined crop top and skirt set. She passed through Chanel's version of guests-who-lunch, alongside long-time muse Cara Delevingne and Pharrell, who rocked the runway wearing a black jacket, strands of pearls, and a mini hat that resembled a yarmulke, a cap traditionally worn by Jewish men.
For the ladies, hairstylist Sam McKnight created floral headpieces of various shapes and sizes—not unlike the ones you've probably seen gracing the head of Kate Middleton and other members of the British royal family. Crafted out of various airy materials like tulle and silk chiffon, some headpieces featured delicate vine leaves that were wrapped around the back of the head while others included a vintage-inspired nets that covered the face. As for the hair, McKnight tied the models' wispy tresses into a low ponytail with a piece of black ribbon—a dressy yet simple style trick we can't wait to try out for our next holiday party.

This isn't the first time McKnight sent down these whimsical accessories on the Chanel runway. At the spring 2006 couture show, the hairstylist wove several silk chiffon flowers into the models' loose plaits. The return of the look perfectly exemplifies what the brand does best: Updating a seemingly traditional look into a must-try trend. And while flowers in one's hair may not seem like the most groundbreaking idea known to men, it certainly provides the perfect opportunity to incorporate a little Chanel chicness to your look without sacrificing next month's rent—a recent Google search turned up multiple (and cheaper) versions of the headpieces for you to choose from.
The flower crown feels quite elegant with the just-woke-up-like-this ponytail, and paired with one of the camellia-embellished, cream tweed suit from the collection, you're looking at the perfect afternoon tea outfit with the queen. Fittingly, McKnight even posted a photo of the models enjoying a warm beverage on his Instagram—complete with the hashtag #teatime.
