After making a dazzling and truly heartfelt appearance at the 44th annual American Music Awards last month, Selena Gomez may be officially coming back to the spotlight in a new role.
According to an anonymous source cited by Page Six, the singer has signed a $10 million deal with Coach to become one of the new faces for the American brand—and even try her hand at designing her own line of products. We’ve reached out to the brand for confirmation and will update this story when the information is available.
Gomez’s partnership with the American brand sounds like a match made in fashion heaven. In the past couple of months, the Disney alum has successfully risen to fashion’s “It” girl status, thanks to her minimal yet edgy style on the streets and the red carpet. With the help of celebrity stylists Kate Young and Christian Classen, Gomez is known to frequently experiment with her personal style, testing out an eclectic group of insider labels like Monse, Vetements, and London-based brand Galvan. In addition to starring on the covers of various fashion magazines this year, the 24-year-old singer generated buzz in June when she became the new face of Louis Vuitton—her first-ever major fashion campaign.

And while there are countless numbers of celeb endorsement deals in the industry, this partnership comes at a time when the popularity of star-designed lines is at an all-time high—from Zayn’s upcoming capsule with Versus Versace to Gigi Hadid’s fall collection with Tommy Hilfiger, which recently announced its second Tommy x Gigi collaboration, set to launch in February next year.
What’s more, Gomez has a huge social media following. The singer currently has the most followers on Instagram—with 104 million so far—and took eight out of the top ten spots on the list of most-liked photos of 2016. As a millennial, she certainly attracts the new generation of customers Coach has been trying to cater to in recent years.
We can't wait to see how Gomez will translate her personal style on the runway. Last week, the Revival singer was spotted rocking the brand’s vintage-inspired T-shirt and Rogue tote bag in West Hollywood—could this be considered as a hint of things to come? We can only hope.
