The Wet n Wild MegaLast Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipstick Is So Major

2016 has brought a lot of liquid lipsticks in our lives. As the year winds down, the Wet n Wild MegaLast Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipstick is giving us a couple reasons to add it to the top of our list of faves. First of all, that name—Liquid Catsuit. It evokes everything we didn't know we wanted from a matte liquid lipstick, that is one whose super-thin formula clings to the curves and dips of your lips in all the right places? The creamy elixir is so intensely pigmented that you only need a single swipe and you're good to go for basically the rest of the day. Unlike some liquid lipsticks, you don't need a second coat, and it won't start pilling up after an hour. I haven't shimmied into a catsuit lately, so I can't speak to its comfort. However, moisturizers like vitamin E and a special macadamia derivative allow this liquid version to feel more like butter, less like unforgiving latex. Oh yeah, it's also fragrance free, gluten free, and cruelty free.

The applicator is a bit different from your usual liquid lipstick, too. It's like a doe foot with a L- (or J depending on how you hold it) shaped divot in the center. The special angle hugs the peaks and valleys of your lips for more precise application. You can basically cover your whole top or bottom lip in one swipe thanks to that ergonomic design. It's that foolproof.

Once the Wet n Wild MegaLast Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipstick dries down after half a minute or so, your lips won't have an ounce of shine. (That's one major point of difference between an actual catsuit and this liquid lipstick spin-off.) Instead, it has an ultra-matte finish that allows the pigment to be transfer-proof. I haven't kissed anyone while wearing it—maybe that's a sign I need to break out my actual catsuit—so I can't attest to the lipstick being smooch-proof. Berry Recognize definitely didn't leave a cool-toned raspberry mark on my cup of hibiscus tea this morning, though.

As you can see above, the shade range is pretty awesome, too. If you prefer a more neutral lip, there's Nudie Patootie (a beige) and Nudist Peach (a light pinky peach). But if you love bolds like me, try Goth Topic (a raisin) or Flame of the Game (a bright poppy red). All 13 shades of the Wet n Wild MegaLast Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipstick are available now for $4.99 on wetnwildbeauty.com. (It won't be on shelves at your local drugstore until next month.) Some of the most popular lipsticks this year were in the $30 range, so $4.99 is awesome for its high-quality formula.
