After all the glitter and sparkle of the holidays, Instagram should just shut down for January, right? If it’s just going to be gray skies and guilt-inducing tableaux of yoga mats and water bottles, I’m out. But before you go, there’s a new incentive to keep scrolling on through the New Year blues: UK beauty brand Lottie London is coming to America the first month of 2017, people.
In case it’s slipped beneath your radar, Lottie London began life two years ago as a small collection of brightly—colored brushes (i.e. prime Insta-bait ) at British drugstore chain, Superdrug. Since then, no beauty trend has gone by without a zeitgeist zinger from Lottie. Each product was made to be hashtagged, designed with beauty bloggers and their marble work tops in mind: the best-selling Strobe Stix ($10) and Slay All Day Liquid Lipstick top the list, and of course a rainbow highlighter, Mermaid Glow, was the most recent coup. But as well as the limitless shelfie potential, they’re really bringing it in the quality stakes too. Richly pigmented palettes like Believe In Your Selfie bring together all the best-selling looks for under 15 bucks, and their filter-in-a-stick Insta Filter Pore Eraser Stick ($7.99) is a multi-functional must for regular selfie-artists to mattify and blur. And those brushes aren’t just pretty to look at: they’ve sold over half a million of them this year alone, with the Contour Queen brush outselling the rest to become a cult classic in Europe.
