With Halloween about a month away, beauty brands are dropping limited-edition makeup collections for the occasion. Makeup Revolution's just came out, and it's packed with spooky spins on popular products we use on the other 364 days of the year. If you ask me, Halloween is the best time to try out all the makeup trends you've been too scared to try out the other 364 days of the year. Dying to try black lipstick? Want to see what the over-the-top flare highlight is all about? Mark you calendar for October 31st, and Makeup Revolution will help you make your creepiest makeup dreams come true.
The highlights of the collection are the lip kits fit for Morticia Addams. If Kylie Jenner were the iconic movie character in another lifetime, she'd be reaching for either the Kiss of Death Lip Kit or the Vampire Night Lip Kit. Both are complete with a matte liquid lipstick and lip pencil. However, Kiss of Death comes with a duo in a black that's as dark as the Addams matriarch's soul. Vampire Night, on the other hand, is all about a deep blood red that you'll be thirsting to wear all fall long. Oh yeah, and both are just $9 each.
Even highlighter gets macabre with Makeup Revolution's Halloween collection. It took the popular Vivid Baked Highlighter, which even Khloe Kardashian loves, and pressed a sinister skull into a pearly white shade that shifts to a petal pink. The $6 Ghost Lights Highlighter is sure to stop people in their tracks at the sight of your blinding cheekbones.
Need to add some definition to your ghostly glow? The Ghost Sculpt duo ($7) will help you out. On one side, you have a white powder to pull the color (and life) out of the high points of your skin. The second shade is a pitch black to carve out the hollows of your face like a pumpkin. If you just need the white shade, you can get the Ghost Powder, which is complete with an actual ghost. Somewhere Casper is ecstatic that he finally is represented in the beauty industry.
The one part of the collection I'm sure you'll want to use beyond your costume is the palettes. Their bright shadows have the potential to be makeup bag staples. Their names are quite creepy, though. The Give Them Darkness Palette includes 18 matte and shimmery shades in classic Halloween hues like orange, purple, and black. All are perfect if you're planning to be the wicked witch of wherever you call home or even a mermaid.
The Dead Are Alive Palette is packed with shades that are a bit more ethereal. Think pastel pinks, sheer golds, and soft mauves. The best part is both palettes are $10 each.
