Lucy Hale has been on a tea-spilling roll. Just last week, the 28-year-old actress revealed she had to cover up a hickey during her time as Aria on Pretty Little Liars, and that her on-screen on-and-off boyfriend Ezra Fitz (Ian Harding) was her Season 1 offscreen crush. (The purveyor of said hickey remains a mystery.) But yesterday, she dropped the biggest reveal of them all: the secret to her enviably lush brows.
Turns out, it's genetics. Over the weekend, Hale uploaded an Instagram of her and her dad boating in Canada. The picture is indisputable proof that the two Hales are total brow twins. "Papa Bear takes on the Couve 🇨🇦," read the caption. "Ya wonder where I got my brows from? 😏"

Since it is no longer the '90s and unplucked brows are incredibly in, this was, indeed, a question that plagued many. But unfortunately, there's no product or technique that Lucy uses to get her iconic bushy look.
"I don’t even do anything to them," she told Teen Vogue in 2015. "Your body remembers what you want. I finally found the shape that works for me. All [my makeup artist] Kelsey [Deenihan] does is fill them in a little bit."
Lucy prefers the Diorshow Brow Styler Brow Pencil, according to People. But if you're not willing to drop $29 for some amped up brows, we have some suggestions: Glossier's famous Boy Brow, which looks like a mascara but is really a wax that grants you instant groomage with just a few strokes, is one. Maybelline's Brow Precise Fiber Volumizer is a more affordable alternative. And if you're not into brushes, Anastasia Beverly Hills and Benefit offer similar volume in pencil form.
If you're taking a while to master the aforementioned products, don't feel bad. Lucy also previously revealed to Teen Vogue that she, like us, has been through the thick and thin (ha) when it comes to brow problems. "I’ve had horror stories where I’ve over-plucked them, and then finally they grow back out, and then I let someone else touch them and it is a disaster," she said. "I vowed to never let anyone touch them again. Long live the big brow!"
