Best Lipsticks For Every Skin Tone

If there's one thing Reddit is good for, it's finding out the beauty products people really, truly love and hate.

Two days ago, a user posed this question: "What's your everyone-should-have-this lipstick?" The thread received more than 400 comments. The most popular comment was one from a user who recommended Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey ($21). "It's flattering on everyone, the formula isn't drying, and its color in the tube intimidates the uninitiated so you get that elitist makeup queen feeling," writes the user. We're in love with that description (we called it shiny and gorgeous — and it works on almost every skin tone).

In the comments, people say they love this Clinique product because it's a hybrid of a balm and a lipstick, and they claim the color has serious lasting power. Another lipstick user writes that she's "obsessed" with Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in Lovecraft ($26), and many other seem to agree that the mauve-pink nude is something everyone could wear all the time. Another favorite comes from Sephora. "The Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain in Marvelous Mauve ($18) is the only mauve color that doesn't pull brown on me (looking at you, Kat Von D Lolita), and its affordability and staying power makes it even more appealing," writes one user.

Redditors are also major fans of the drugstore brand Wet n Wild. One user writes, "For me, Wet n Wild MegaLast Lip Color in Spiked with Rum! It's a decent dupe for Kat Von D Lolita, and it's just a gorgeous shade in general with great staying power, and it flatters almost anyone I've seen wear it! It's my go-to color." This one costs less than $3. And finally, one of the other most popular lipsticks is a classic: M.A.C. Lipstick in Ruby Woo ($17). "It's like the perfect lipstick for any skin tone, and that finish! Makes me giddy just thinking about it," writes one user. "It's the first lipstick I fully used up." Safe to say we're pretty into that one, too.

It looks like the general consensus on this Reddit thread is that peach, mauve, berry, and classic reds always look good on all kinds of skin tones, and a lot of people are searching for the perfect Kat Von D Lolita dupe. Have you tried any of these lipsticks? Do you think they work on everyone?
