Watch Barbie Ferreira’s 5-Minute Makeup Routine (Video)

Next to model Barbie Ferreira’s name, you’ll often see words like “inspirational,” “barrier-breaking” and “role model.” We’d like to go ahead and add “beauty guru,” to that list after seeing her 5-minute makeup routine. In an exclusive new video for Allure, we asked the inspirational, barrier-breaking body-positive role model to walk us through her routine for a flawless 5-minute face that will “make you look like you didn’t spend way too much time at the bar last night.” Amen to that, sister.

Here’s how Barbie breaks down her brighten-up routine.

Step 1: Remove the mustache.

Already we’re off to a relatable start. Using a Panasonic Swing Head Facial Groomer ($13), the model tames that upper lip hair that ps. — we all have.

Step 2: Primer.

Barbie uses two drops of Ren Perfect Canvas Skin Finishing Serum ($55) a kickass serum-meets-primer to smooth, hydrate, and make those pores teeny tiny.

Step 3: Foundation.

For foundation, Barbie takes a high-low approach. First, she squirts a couple pumps of the super-luxe Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation ($64) onto the back of her hand before blending with a brush she thinks she got “at like a Target or something.” (It’s part of the Real Techniques Flawless Base Brush Set and yes, you can get it at Target for $9.) “As you can tell this also doesn’t really match my shade of skin,” Barbie says. May we suggest an upgrade to Rihanna’s award-winning shade range?

Step 4: Cheeks

Using Glossier’s Cloud Paint in Beam ($18) Barbie takes a Morphe 583 Brush ($17) to light up her cheeks and the bridge of her nose with a little peach glow. Followed by Glossier Haloscope Highlighter in Moonstone ($22) on the “classic areas.” Read: around the eyes, on the top edge of cheekbones and on the bridge of her nose.

Step 5: Powder.

Since she’s “a sweater,” (Seriously, can this girl get any more relatable?) Barbie sticks with the Glossier theme and uses Wowder Powder ($22) with the Morphe MB33 Jumbo Fan Brush ($11) to set her look.

Step 6: Brows.

Here’s where Barbie gets wild. She puts plain old mascara (Maybelline Great Lash Mascara in Very Black ($6) to be exact) right on her brows. Obviously, this trick won’t work for blondes but we admire the ingenuity.

Step 7: Eyes.

Here’s where the super brightening power comes in. Using NYX Professional Makeup Faux Whites in Vanilla ($8), Barbie lines the rims of her inner lash line, sticking to the outer corners. To finish the eye-opening look, she grabs a drugstore lash curler before reaching for Origins GinZing Mascara ($20.50) to add even more brightening power.

Step 8: Lips.

For the finishing touch, she goes for a classic lip stain: Benefit Benetint Cheek and Lip Stain ($30).

After a spritz of Leven Rose 100% Rose Water ($13) to set the look and dab of coconut oil on her décolletage and shoulders, voila! A 5-minute makeup tutorial for that "just woke up like this" effect.
