American Music Awards 2016: Selena Gomez Stuns With a Smoky Eye

After taking a brief hiatus to focus on her health, Selena Gomez is back and better than ever. Gomez chose the American Music Awards 2016 to make a stunning comeback appearance, reuniting with makeup artist Hung Vanngo to create her glamorous look. Minutes before she stepped out on the red carpet, Vanngo posted a pic of Selena Gomez's American Music Awards 2016 look—and it's basically makeup magic.

Unlike last year's AMA's look where the star went with a trendy maroon eye, this time Gomez went for something much more classic, a smoldering, sculpted look that harks back to the '90s supermodels. In Vanngo's pre-red carpet teaser post, Selena's skin is glowing, her brows are filled in with razor-sharp perfection, and her cheeks are lightly contoured. But at the heart of the look are her sultry brown-and-black smoky eyes that are so expertly blended and shaded, you'd swear they were airbrushed on (in reality, it was all Chanel Makeup, according Vanngo). If you're a makeup nerd like us, you could spend hours staring at Vanngo's handiwork—the different shades of brown and black seamlessly blending into one another and not a speck of shadow out of place. To complete the look, he appears to have over-lined and filled in her lips with a pinky-taupe pencil—M.A.C. Spice perhaps?—and topped it off with Vanngo's magic wand, err, lip gloss.
