To be beauty-editor honest, I've been #blessed enough to have a palette hit my desk daily for the past month, at least. But none have been like today's launch, Deck of Scarlet, a brand-new palette subscription service—not unlike our very own Allure Beauty Box) or almost like a Nikkie Tutorials x Too Faced palette that you don't have to worry about selling out in five minutes.
Deck of Scarlet is the new sister company of Scentbird, a monthly perfume subscription service. Its co-founder, Rachel ten Brink, tells Allure she's admittedly a "YouTube junkie." The ease of the tutorials, she explains, was their inherent appeal. So when Brink realized she would then spend too much time gathering her vloggers' choice picks, it spurred the idea for an affordable, accessible, and easy AF option to create their signature looks. And that's how Deck of Scarlet was born, guys.
Here's how it works: Every other month, Deck of Scarlet will send you a brand-new palette that was designed in collaboration with an "Artist in Chief," according to the label—really just a popular beauty blogger or YouTuber you may or may not be obsessed with. (#nojudgment.) Together, the Artist in Chief and the Deck of Scarlet team curate a carefully selected range of shades and create two looks (usually one for daytime and one for night, natch). And as YouTube would only have it, each Artist in Chief will film step-by-step tutorials with the curated looks with bonus tips on how to really werk the colors. Pretty cool, yeah?
For the first collab, Deck of Scarlet enlisted Kelly Strack, perhaps better known as @mak3upbarbie on YouTube. (Pssst: Follow us on YouTube, too. Great stuff, guys.) "I was so thrilled when I was asked to be the first Artist in Chief for Deck of Scarlet," she tells Allure. "[Together, Deck of Scarlet and I] picked wearable bolds with stunning pigments that reflect nature's best- sparkling golds, gregarious greens and sexy burgundy."

More palettes we're seriously freaking obsessed with right now:
The limited-edition palette (welcome to the club, you're in good company) comes with three supersoft yet intensely pigmented shadows, a powder bronzer for subtle contouring, a cream blush that melts seamlessly into skin with a powder finish, two cleverly packaged lipsticks, an eyeliner, and a lip liner. Damn, right? And, every single component in the sleek black case (case included) are cruelty-free and made here in the USA. For the sweet, sweet price of $29.95 per delivery—on par or less than many of the options out there, TBH. Right now, thought, we're wondering who Deck of Scarlet will collaborate with next. Any guesses? For now, you can sign up for a subscription here.
