Coming off the news of James Charles being named the first male CoverGirl, the brand continues its message of inclusivity by naming Muslim beauty blogger Nura Afia an ambassador for the new So Lashy! BlastPro Mascara. I'm a big fan of Afia's YouTube channel, as are her more than 200,000 subscribers. Afia frequently posts tutorials about how to get the perfect smoky eye or the freshest daytime look, but she also uses her hijab in creative ways. She's posted videos about how to tie a turban hijab and make it look flawless, tutorials that garner thousands of likes and comments. Now, she's showing off those skills to a massive audience with a new CoverGirl commercial and a huge billboard in New York City's Time Square.
Beauty blogger Nura Afia joins fellow CoverGirl ambassadors—many of them new, as well. You've got James Charles, DJ/model/actress Amy Pham, Modern Family star Sofia Vergara, Sugar Symphony YouTubers Chloe + Halle, and Katy Perry. It's a really diverse, gorgeous group of men and women.

As for the new mascara, So Lashy! launched yesterday. It's features a 3-in-1 brush that molds and shapes your lashes, plus a ball-tip to get those hard-to-reach corner eyelashes. Watch Afia and the rest of the ambassadors try it on when the commercial airs November 14.
