This Christmas Eye Makeup is Mini Holiday Magic

For years I thought no one could surpass my level of holiday cheer, but then I laid my eyes on a stunning Christmas eye makeup look. And I am ready to bow down to Bing Crosby, Frosty the Snowman, and even jolly old St. Nick. While lip art has grown in popularity among social media, this makeup masterpiece certainly raises the bar. Er, the brow?

Ali Nordahl, a self-taught Canadian makeup artist, drew a dreamy holiday landscape, fully-decked out with a reindeer, a Christmas tree and present, and a starry snowy night—all on the few square centimeters of her eyelids. Hello Giggles first spotted the Twitter post of her finished look, which she wrote took her four hours and has since racked up nearly 40,000 retweets and over 100,000 likes. Every itty bitty festive detail is true holiday perfection, which left me with one question: How in the world did she do it? Happily, Nordahl was happy to share the inside scoop on her holiday merry-making techniques. The makeup artist Tweeted that dipping a sewing needle in eyeliner was just one of the miniature tools she used to pull-off the scape. Plus a lot of patience and time, no doubt. To paint the holiday night sky Nordahl says she blended, "greys/blues/blacks from the morphe 35b and 35c [palettes]." (This Insta-famous makeup artist told us those Morphe palettes were her favorite, too.) To draw on her mesmerizing holiday details, the makeup artist turned to a whopping nine liners, including Rimmel London Colour Precise Eyeliner in White, NYX Cosmetics Vivid Bright Liquid Eyeliners in Halo, Fire, Petal, Escape, and Envy, in Black/Brown, Tarte Cosmetics So Fine Micro Liner, and Annabelle Cosmetics Glitterama Liquid Eyeliner in Solar Flare. Phew. Get all that?

The dazzling winter wonderland makeup miniature actually isn't the most shocking or memorable part of this story. The real surprise is that Nordahl is only 17-years-old. At 17, I was still trying to learn how to apply liner without poking myself in the eye—let alone using a needle to do—so major props to the talented artist. Of course, she's not reserving her talents just for the holiday spirit. Aside from this majestic Christmas scene, she's also followed-up with a holiday alien look and a colorful take on the helix eyeliner trend.

Not even my endless Christmas decorations and Mariah Carey holiday playlist could stand up against this stunning Christmas makeup. Stylo tip to the talented teen. You've definitely gotten me into this holiday spirit right away.
