Getting Plan B Is As Easy As Ordering a Bagel Thanks to Seamless and This Bodega

Seamless is a godsend for many New Yorkers. It saves them from having to trudge out in freezing winter snowstorms to get a bite to eat, and it's an easy way to order up a delicious, carb-filled hangover cure if you've gone too hard the night before. Now thanks to one New York City bodgea (a.k.a. corner store), customers can order Plan B—emergency contraceptive—through the app as well.

News that Corner Grocers, located in Manhattan's Lower East Side, was offering the emergency birth control pill as part of its menu first surfaced on Thursday thanks to a Reddit thread titled "Seamless for snax... and Plan B?!" Thrillist reports. Redditor geneverve posted a screenshot of the bodgea's Seamless menu, noting that Plan B had been added, alongside quesadillas and ice cream, as part of the deli's new product offerings. "Emergency Contraceptive Reduces Chance of Pregnancy after Unprotected Sex - Not for Regular Birth Control," the description for the pill reads.

Apparently the menu item is nothing new for Corner Grocers, though. The deli first made Plan B One Step available for delivery using Seamless more than six months ago, The Cut noted. Having Plan B available on demand doesn't come cheap though. Listed at $76.99, that's much more expensive than Target's price of $49.99, and generic versions cost even less.

Though many are amused by the idea of getting Plan B delivered with their morning cup of coffee, it's a "luxury" that should be hailed as a win for reproductive rights. Given that Ohio legislators recently passed a restrictive new abortion law, let us take the chance to celebrate the freedom and ease that this store and Seamless are giving those who don't want to get pregnant: the choice in the first place.
