The New Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick Shades: Everything We Know So Far

This summer, we confirmed that 14 new shades of the cult-favorite Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick will be launching in spring 2017, but there might be more to look forward to—and sooner than when we start shedding our winter sweaters. Both the cruelty-free company and its tattooed founder teased the upcoming launch on Instagram last night. As noted fans of the long-lasting product that comes in an amazing range of hues, our excitement is so real, and we basically need them, like, yesterday.

Kat Von D's Instagram story gave followers a black-and-white sneak peek at five of the new shades. Each are lined up from lightest to darkest, with the lightest looking like a light nude and the darkest appearing to be almost black, which already exists in the collection. Could it be a dark eggplant? A burgundy? When it comes to black-and-white photos of lipstick, your guesses on exact shades are as good as ours.

Von D's Instagram, on the other hand, was much more helpful in the hint department. In the caption, she said she did 25 swatches of the new Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks. Wait, could we be getting 25 fresh shades instead of 14? (She also gave a shout out to Bite Beauty's new sugar scrub, which launched earlier this week.)

We don't know all the details on the shades that will be launching next year, but we bet you can expect Plath and Roxy to be a part of the mix. The deep russet red and bright grape, respectively, made an early preview appearance in one of the company's holiday mini sets. Since we've already started playing the guessing game, we're also suspecting Devils, a siren red, and Lovecraft, a beloved nude from the Studded Kiss Lipstick collection, might make permanent appearances in the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick. They were included exclusively in the 15-piece vault that was released a couple months ago. This is what Devil looks like on lips.

Kat Von D also teased a called a mauvey brown called Crucifix on Instagram five months ago. The caption also noted that the shade is "one of the 7 brown/nudes." TBH, the liquid lipstick line is seriously lacking neutrals (there's only five in the 30-shade collection right now), so we can't wait for these additions.

While we all wait for an official announcement from KVD on the new liquid lipstick shades for 2017, start thinking about whether your lipstick wardrobe needs some nudes, browns, warm reds, and an electric purple.
